OUR SPACE

LUCA is derived from the Latin name Lucas, meaning “bringer of light.”

LUCA was established with a name to reflect the meaning of it, hoping to be the “bringer of light” to Thao Dien Ward, a must-try local’s destination, and also a traveler’s destination.

At LUCA, worm bricks, a common and well-known material that has been used mostly for paving sidewalks, are used as the main building material for the entire restaurant.

The brick can be used to pave indoor floors, patios, sidewalks, or it can be shaped into planters, benches, bar counters, or even lights. With a fresh appearance and new lease on life, it is able to tell its own story while fostering a warm and pleasant connection with customers.

OUR FOOD

A thoughtful union between traditional technique and local innovation, the menu takes a gentle stroll through centuries of culinary tradition, extracting snippets of respected European Cuisine foundations and fusing them with experimentation and modern combinations from our Head Chef.

When setting the intention for the menu, the words “innovation”, “simplicity”, and “local” speak to the essence of each dish that leaves the kitchen. Whether it’s a French Toast Tiramisu for breakfast, a freshly baked baguette for brunch, a tasty morsel with a cocktail, or a three-course dinner experience, there’s something to satisfy even the most discerning of palates, making it a to-go brunch spot and a must try dinner spot.

Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, dinner, aperitifs, last-minute nightcaps, and all the moments in between, find LUCA, the newest member of SOKOGROUP on 49 Xuan Thuy, hoping to become Thao Dien’s best restaurant.

OUR WINE

At LUCA, we hope to deliver a wine list that is short and heavily slanted towards the classics of Europe – a who’s who of the world of wine. Our sommelier hopes to portray our wine list is as an adventure, like a joyously delicious, hazy rosado pétillant naturel from Còsmic Vinyaters or an easygoing, natural Rioja from Viñedos Hontza. The wine list is predominantly natural and offers a wide array of skin-contact or orange wines. The biggest concentration comes from Austria, Eastern Europe and the Balkans, and a smattering from Italy, France, and elsewhere.
